Celebrating Reunions this year were the Classes of 1973, 1983, 1993, 2003 and 2005. Reunion guests gathered at the Law Center on Friday, September 6th for a free two hour CLE program. Guest speaker, Paul Barrett, noted lawyer, author, and assistant managing editor of Bloomberg BusinessWeek, spoke on, “Law of the Jungle: The Perils of Complex Litigation.” He discussed his upcoming book about the Ecuadorian litigation that pits two of our nation’s most prestigious law firms against each other. He is also the author of GLOCK: The Rise of America’s Gun (2012), a New York Times bestseller. Joining Mr. Barrett for a panel discussion were Professors Margaret Thomas, Micheal Coenen, and Kat Macfarlane.
Later that same evening, a dinner reception was held at the Capitol Park Museum in downtown Baton Rouge, where guests were treated to outstanding food, drinks, a jazz band and tours of the museum.
The following day, reunion guests attended the All-Alumni Tailgate and Hats N Canes celebration on the grounds of the Old Law Building, prior to the LSU vs. Kent State football game. Food, fun and merriment was the theme of the day, and numerous alumni, family and friends turned out for a wonderful end to a festive reunion weekend. View photo gallery.
