Careers in the International Field

Professor Robert Sloan, the current director of Laborde Entergy Law Center and Professor of Professional Practice at LSU Law Center, will discuss what students can do to prepare themselves if they are interested in either Public or Private International Law.  Professor Sloan served as General Counsel of the Multinational Force and Observers, the ten-nation peacekeeping  organization that established the Camp David Peace Treaty in Israel and has also worked in Private International Law by serving as general counsel for General Electric.

Professor Sloan will speak about his experiences, what can be expected working in the International field, and how students can carve which path to take when working for a firm that is involved in International Law.  As the current Director of Energy Law, Sloan will also discuss how he became involved with Energy Law through his former professions such as his focus in non-proliferation of Nuclear Energy while serving as Legal Advisor at the U.S. State Department.
