The Class of 1957 celebrated its 50th class reunion as part of the Law Center’s
2007 commencement ceremony held May 24 at the Maravich Assembly Center.
Returning to represent their class, Golden Grads Jack Brittain, James Clark,
Ernest Eldred, Robert Kostelka, Joseph Lipsey, Jr., James Pierson, Jr., Billy
Robinson, and Clark W. Taylor walked in the processional wearing gold gowns
with commemorative purple stoles.
Robert Kostelka, state senator from District 35, spoke on behalf of the Class
of 1957, offering humorous anecdotes and sage advice to the new graduates. He
encouraged them to do all they can do to advance the esteem and professionalism
of the practice of law.
Following commencement, the Golden Grads returned to the Law Center for a delightful
luncheon in the Tucker Room and an informal tour of the recently renovated campus.
Many wanted to see the ‘new’ 1969 building and make a nostalgic visit to their
classrooms in the original 1936 building.
As an annual event, the Golden Grads 50th Class Reunion held in conjunction
with commencement is a chance to highlight both Law Center history and its future.
