Class of 1967 Endows Scholarship

Back

One of Chancellor Jack Weiss’ initiatives is a challenge to graduates to use the occasion of their reunions to establish a Class Gift that will benefit future students. The Class of 1967 was the first to meet the challenge and did so in a big way, establishing the LSU Law Class of 1967 Endowed Scholarship.

Chancellor Weiss accepted a gift of $60,000 from class representatives at the November 9 reunion. The endowment will be matched by $40,000 from the Judge Paul B. Landry estate and will generate an award of approximately $4,500 per year.

Serving on the reunion planning committee were John Breaux, Frank Fertitta, Edward “Jimmy” Gaidry, Jarrell Godfrey, William C. Kaufmann III, Charles S. McCowan, Jr., Randy Parro, Patrick Pendley, Alex Rankin, Emile C. Rolfs, Robert “Pete” Seale, John Swanner, Billy Tauzin, and John M. Wilson.
