If you ask LSU Law student Robert Hoke, he’ll tell you that Apprenticeship Week is, “Definitely something that every student should experience.” Hoke was one of over 130 LSU Law students who began the spring 2013 semester early to attend Apprenticeship Week, an innovative and unique new program of legal education at the Law Center. From January 6 through 10, the program provided students an opportunity to learn about the practical aspects of legal education in focused, task-oriented, small enrollment mini-courses.

Jan. 6, 2014 — LSU Law kicked off its first Apprenticeship Week today, with over 130 students and 16 master lawyers and judges serving as faculty. The innovative program provides a unique opportunity for students to learn about the practical aspects of legal education in focused, task-oriented, small enrollment mini-courses.
More than 130 LSU Law 2Ls and 3Ls have submitted applications for the inaugural Apprenticeship Program, to be held on campus January 6 through 10, 2014. LSU Law Chancellor Jack M. Weiss sent a message to students congratulating them on their willingness to devote their pre-semester vacation time to the innovative program.
An Application Meeting for LSU Law’s Apprenticeship Week will be held Monday, September 30 at 12:40 p.m. in the McKernan Auditorium. Apprenticeship Week is an exciting new intersession program for upperclass students that will be held January 6-10, 2014.
