For the second straight year, the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center has been ranked the #3 Best Value Law School in the nation by the National Jurist, a legal education publication.
Public interest law advocates gathered at the Louisiana Supreme Court last month for the 2012 Pro Bono and Children’s Law Awards Ceremony sponsored by the Louisiana State Bar Association. The Law Center’s Juvenile Defense Clinic, clinical faculty and one recent law center graduate were recognized at the awards ceremony for their contributions to public interest.
The LSU Law Center ranks 11th in the nation in the percentage of 2011 graduates employed in full-time, long-term legal jobs within 9 months of graduation, according to an analysis published earlier today by the Wall Street Journal. Some 81.25% of the graduates of the LSU Law Class of 2011 were employed in a full-time, long-term job requiring a legal degree.
It’s no surprise to generations of LSU Law graduates that the school is # 1 in the state when it comes to preparing students to pass the Louisiana State Bar Examination. But a recent study conducted by The National Jurist magazine identified LSU Law as the # 1 school in the nation in terms of first-time bar passage ratios in a predictive statistical model based on LSAT scores.
The Honorable Judge Annette Lassalle of the East Baton Rouge Family Court presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the students enrolled in the Spring 2012 Family Law Clinic. The ceremony took place at the Court on January 18th. Third year students Brent Hall, Caitlin Casselman, Janna Underhill, Rachel Roe, David Bae and Cullen Clement were certified to practice law pursuant to Louisiana Supreme Court Rule XX.
